Created for God’s Glory

We are created for God’s glory. God created us for Himself and He is in love with each one of us. Let us pray that we will all know and experience the love of God in Christ more fully than ever. By the power of the Holy Spirit who lives in us, may we fulfill all that God has ordained for our lives even before we were born.

God declares in Isaiah 43 that Israel is a people created for his glory.  In these last days he has extended this call to glory to people of all nations who come to him through Yeshua the Messiah, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  To those who receive the King of Glory and walk in love with him, God promises that they will see his glory and will be with him forever.  Even now Holy Spirit who lives in us anoints us with power to walk in love with Him. “Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” (Romans 5:5)

In Isaiah 43, the Lord describes the return of the Jewish people to the land of Israel from all the nations where they have been scattered, and recommits himself to them as his sons and daughters, created for his glory. The fulfillment of this prophecy in our time is overwhelming evidence that the Bible is God’s Word.

Isaiah 43 (NIV)
5 Do not be afraid, for I am with you;
I will bring your children from the east
and gather you from the west.

6 I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’
and to the south, ‘Do not hold them back.’
   Bring my sons from afar
and my daughters from the ends of the earth-

7 everyone who is called by my name,
whom I created for my glory,
   whom I formed and made.”

Moses was a forerunner of all who would pray from their hearts to God saying, “Please show me your glory”.

Exodus 33 (NKJV)
18 And he said, “Please, show me Your glory.” 19 Then He said, “I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.”  20 But He said, “You cannot see My face; for no man shall see Me, and live.” 21 And the LORD said, “Here is a place by Me, and you shall stand on the rock. 22 So it shall be, while My glory passes by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock, and will cover you with My hand while I pass by. 23 Then I will take away My hand, and you shall see My back; but My face shall not be seen.”

David writes in Psalm 19:1, “the heavens declare the glory of God”. He then gives thanks for the Word of God that rejoices the heart and enlightens the eyes.

David writes in Psalm 24, that for those who seek God’s face, the King of glory will come in:

Psalm 24 (NKJV)
6 This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him,
Who seek Your face.  Selah

9 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. 10 Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.

Jesus spoke of God’s glory in the Lord’s prayer in Matthew 6:13, “For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever.”

Matthew 6 (KJV)
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Jesus, the Son of God, declares in John 3:16 that he has come for the entire world, that whoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life.

John 3:16 (NKJV)
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

In John 14:17, Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth, to be in us, and in John 14:23 he declares, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit make their home in those who love and obey.

John 14 (NKJV)
Jesus Promises Another Helper
15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.

In John 17, Jesus prays that those who follow him will have a deep unity with him and with the Father, that we would behold his glory, and share in the relationship of love that was his with the Father before the foundation of the world.

John 17 (NKJV)
20 “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; 21 that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. 22 And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: 23 I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.

24 “Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.
