Coming out of many years of immersion in eastern philosophies, I was reluctant to believe Jesus’ words in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
Finally I realized that I needed to hear directly from God on this issue, so I prayed, “Heavenly Father, people say that the Bible is Your Word, but is it really? I need to hear this directly from You.” The Lord then spoke these words to my spirit: “I wrote that Book.”
From that day on, the Bible has been my standard of truth. Instead of judging the Bible based on viewpoints of others, I now evaluate and judge those other views from the standpoint of the Bible. As the old saying goes, “God said it, I believe it, and that settles it!”
